I always thought it would have made more sense if she was doing independent studies with the professors rather than taking classes with all the other students. She could just rewind an hour in the evening and meet with three different professors at the same time.

And I'm glad you're back bib! In some of the other books, the trio bends or stretches the rules but in this one they're just flat out disobeying things without a powerful motive.

I guess I would speculate that a confession would have led them to a search for hard evidence to bring to Dumbledore, where as Draco revealing that he knew nothing led them to let go of his trail.

Another thing I don't get is why Harry didn't confide in Dumbledore. After all, she'd put a ton of thought into making sure they didn't get caught doing any of these things before they took the potion, it seems uncharacteristic that she wouldn't have thought about after.biblioholic29https://www.blogger.com/profile/09136944365496774210noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7697865774493362518.post-84988675705740045282010-07-13T19:08:21.553-04:002010-07-13T19:08:21.553-04:00They hadn't thought out the consequences. Obviously many of the major plot points were determined far in advance, but it's interesting to ponder if "Expelliarmus" was pre-planned to have such an impact in Harry's journey. She could have just as easily came up with another disarming spell so it seems pretty intentional to have Harry rely on the spell he learned from Snape. I guess it could also be a bit of foreshadowing with the spells learned in Half-Blood Prince too. As much as the early books tried to make it look like Snape had it in for Harry, so much of their interactions end up really being about Snape protecting him.lisa :)https://www.blogger.com/profile/11429572773434109490noreply@blogger.com
